BLPR183 – BLUEPRINT READING – INTRODUCTION

 

Being able to accurately and efficiently read blueprints is a vital skill in many fields! Take one or more blueprint reading courses and learn about tolerances, dimensions, basic design concepts and key terminology relevant to interpreting blueprints. Blueprints are commonly used in many building or construction fields, such as architecture, plumbing, electrical or metal work.

 

Get started by learning to interpret simple residential construction-related blueprints! If your current work requires that you develop or improve your blueprint reading skills, this course is for you. Or, if you simply have a strong interest in blueprint reading, this course will introduce you to the essentials. No training or experience in drafting fundamentals is required. Study topics include:

• isometric and orthographic sketching
• interpretation of symbols and abbreviations
• conventional drafting terms
